About Amy Jo

Amy Jo Brown is a nonprofit cultural leader, storyteller, and creative strategist who brings equal parts vision, heart, and practical know-how to mission-driven organizations. With more than two decades of experience spanning performing arts, heritage tourism, and historic preservation, she specializes in connecting people to meaningful experiences—whether through live performance, community events, or the stories embedded in place and history.

Currently serving as Marketing and Public Outreach Coordinator for the Steam Railroading Institute, Amy Jo leads integrated communications, membership and donor engagement, and public programming promotion for a nationally recognized transportation heritage organization. Her work elevates visibility, strengthens community partnerships, and helps translate preservation into lived public impact.

Previously, as Executive Director of the Lebowsky Center for Performing Arts, she oversaw all facets of nonprofit operations—from strategic planning and fundraising to marketing, events, and board relations—guiding the organization through growth while keeping artistic purpose at the center.

Across roles, Amy Jo is known for blending strategic clarity with creative energy. She believes great cultural institutions thrive when strong administration meets compelling storytelling—and she enjoys building both.

In short: she helps meaningful organizations resonate—clearly, sustainably, and with a touch of joy.
